Information on ECP funders

Awards for All

The Project applied for and was successful in securing Awards For All funds for the first time this year. The funding has paid for the setting up of this web site, the continuation of our newsletter; new resources for the Toy Library and the purchase of dual language books for the Toy library to help meet the growing demand as our membership increases.

BBC Children In Need

Another gratefully received fund; this pays towards wages to enable the development of our playpacks for use by childminders and other pre-school workers.

Brighton & Hove Children’s & Young People’s Trust

The Project has for the last six years been commissioned to provide services initially by the Brighton & Hove Central Sure Start Programme and now as the Sure Start programme has been mainstreamed locally, by the Trust. The funding currently provides wages and on costs and the Trust enables the Project to base itself in the new Tarner Children’s Centre.

Brighton & Hove City Council

The Project is in the third of three years of Discretionary Grant aid from Brighton & Hove City Council. This funding provides part wages and travel costs to take the Mobile Toy Library service right a cross the city from Portslade to Saltdean thus providing access to the resources to as many areas as possible.

VR16 Design

When VR16 were offered the project of designing this website, which is funded by a grant for Awards for All, they saw potential to provide more than just a site. Working many unpaid hours they have provided free consultantcy and created content for the site to further the cause which ECP represents.

Leon Harris, a partner of VR16, said "The Early Childhood project is a remarkable charity and we saw an opportunity to help children and carers in our community outside of the initial brief. We also took great care to ensure the site was accessible to all and content expressed the anti-bias stance for which ECP is so well respected. We hope our relationship with ECP will continue long into the future."

And the rest...

Additional funds are raised by undertaking various training contracts and through the Project’s membership fees. The Project relies on donations and fundraising to raise the necessary funds to keep the Project sustainable. Donations are always welcome.
