The Children are Unbeatable Alliance - Hitting Children is Wrong

Fair Use Policy

The aim of the Early Childhood Project and the web site is to show examples of good practice in the areas of anti-bias play, care and education in order to enhance the lives of young children and their families; raise their self esteem, celebrate difference and combat bias of every kind in children's lives.

To do this, the Project will offer original articles and content written by the Early Childhood Project workers, volunteers and Trustees where possible. However, it is necessary to use content from other sources on the web site to further improve the range of the articles and further the pursuit of our anti-bias ideals.

As an educational charity (see the Early Childhood Project constitution) one of our aims is to disseminate facts or information that benefits the public, teaches them things, offers articles for commentary, criticism, is news reporting and for non-profit, educational and/or personal use. This defines our understanding of the term, “fair use”; in good faith, the Project puts onto the web site copyrighted material for a limited and “transformative” purpose.

Where possible, articles will be attributed to the source of the material and attributed to the copyright holder, if they are different. It is not our intent to undermine the ability of copyright holders to take the credit for their work; make money or undermine a new or potential market for their book or publication. Where it is known, texts and articles will be referred to the original work.

The Project would only use material that contributes significantly to topic and not just as a filler. Such materials on the Early Childhood Project web site will be tagged as a “fair use” page. Anyone then copying or using the page would then also use the fair use tag.
